1. All Sales Are Final

• Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing, all sales are final and non-refundable.

  • This policy applies to, but is not limited to:

    • Classes and Instructional Sessions

    • Guided Play and Open Play sessions

    • Private and Group Lessons

    • Tournaments

    • Special Events and Social Events

    • Vendor Registrations

    • Bundles, Packages, Passes, and Promotional Purchases

    • Deposits and Reservation Fees

    • Merchandise and Special Orders

• Failure to attend, scheduling conflicts, illness, transportation issues, travel delays, personal emergencies, weather concerns, or changes in personal circumstances do not automatically entitle the purchaser to a refund.

• Any rescheduling, transfer, substitution, account credit, or exception offered by Mahjong Mania is made at Mahjong Mania’s discretion and does not create an obligation to provide the same exception in the future.

2. Missed Appointments and Late Arrivals

• Participants are responsible for arriving at the scheduled location and time.

• A missed appointment, class, event, or session is considered used and is not refundable.

• Late arrivals may be admitted when reasonably possible; however, Mahjong Mania cannot guarantee that instruction, playing time, tournament time, or other portions of the scheduled activity can be extended or repeated for a late participant.

3. Event Changes and Cancellations

• Mahjong Mania reserves the right to modify an event's instructor, format, schedule, location, curriculum, activities, menu, or other operational details when reasonably necessary.

• If Mahjong Mania cancels an event or service entirely, affected customers will receive information regarding the applicable refund, transfer, rescheduling, or credit options.

• Mahjong Mania is not responsible for expenses incurred by participants in connection with an event, including transportation, lodging, childcare, lost wages, or other incidental expenses.

4. Third-Party Venues

• Many Mahjong Mania classes and events are hosted at independently owned restaurants, taverns, event spaces, community facilities, and other third-party locations.

• Mahjong Mania does not own or control these venues and cannot guarantee venue operations, parking availability, accessibility, food service, beverage service, noise levels, temperature, seating arrangements, or other conditions controlled by the venue.

• Participants agree to comply with all reasonable rules and policies of the host venue.

5. Food, Beverages and Allergies

• Some Mahjong Mania events may include food or beverages supplied by Mahjong Mania, a venue, caterer, sponsor, or other third party.

• Participants with allergies, dietary restrictions, or sensitivities are responsible for evaluating whether available food and beverages are appropriate for them. Mahjong Mania cannot guarantee that any food preparation area or item will be free from specific allergens or cross-contact.

6. Alcoholic Beverages

• Certain events or venues may offer alcoholic beverages.

• Participants who consume alcohol are responsible for doing so responsibly and for arranging safe transportation.

• Alcohol service may be controlled entirely by the host venue and may be subject to identification requirements, age restrictions, service limitations, and venue policies.

• Mahjong Mania does not encourage excessive alcohol consumption and reserves the right to discontinue a participant's involvement when conduct creates a safety concern or materially disrupts the event.

7. Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

• Participation in Mahjong Mania activities is voluntary.

• Participants acknowledge that attendance at classes, tournaments, social events, restaurants, taverns, and other public or private venues involves ordinary risks associated with travel, walking, seating, food and beverage consumption, interaction with other participants, and use of the premises.

• To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, each participant voluntarily assumes the ordinary risks associated with participation and agrees that Mahjong Mania, its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, volunteers, representatives, sponsors, and host venues will not be responsible for injuries, losses, damages, or expenses resulting from risks ordinarily associated with participation, except where liability cannot legally be waived or where caused by conduct for which applicable law does not permit limitation of liability.

• Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive rights that cannot legally be waived.

8. Personal Property

• Participants are responsible for their own purses, wallets, phones, jewelry, Mahjong sets, racks, cards, merchandise, and other personal belongings.

• To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mahjong Mania is not responsible for personal property that is lost, stolen, misplaced, left behind, or damaged during an event.

9. Participant Conduct

• Mahjong Mania is committed to maintaining a welcoming and enjoyable environment.

• Mahjong Mania reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any participant whose conduct is threatening, abusive, discriminatory, excessively disruptive, unsafe, intoxicated, or substantially interferes with the experience of other participants.

• Removal resulting from inappropriate or unsafe conduct does not entitle the participant to a refund.

10. Instructional Results

• Classes and instructional programs are designed to provide education, practice, and guidance. Individual learning outcomes vary.

• Registration does not guarantee mastery of American Mahjong, tournament placement, game performance, advancement to a particular skill level, or any other specific result.

11. Tournament and Competition Decisions

• For tournament or competitive events, participants agree to follow the rules, scoring procedures, timing requirements, and instructions published or communicated for that event.

• Reasonable decisions made by tournament officials regarding gameplay, scoring, timing, player conduct, and administration will be treated as final subject to any review procedure established for the tournament.

12. Photography and Recording

• Mahjong Mania events may occasionally be photographed or recorded for promotional, educational, or social-media purposes.

• Participants who do not wish to appear in photographs or recordings should notify a Mahjong Mania representative before the event begins so reasonable efforts can be made to honor that request. Any separate event-specific photography or media release provided to participants will control when applicable.

13. Intellectual Property and Class Materials

• Mahjong Mania class materials, presentations, worksheets, instructional materials, graphics, photographs, curriculum, and other proprietary content are provided for participants' personal use unless otherwise stated. They may not be reproduced, distributed, resold, publicly posted, recorded, or used commercially without prior written permission from Mahjong Mania.

14. Website and Scheduling Information

• Mahjong Mania makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate event descriptions, dates, prices, locations, and availability. Information may occasionally contain typographical or administrative errors. Mahjong Mania reserves the right to correct errors and will communicate material changes affecting an existing registration when reasonably possible.

15. Promotions, Discounts and Packages

• Promotional codes, discounts, bundles, credits, gift certificates, and special offers are subject to their stated restrictions and expiration requirements and may not be combined unless specifically authorized. Promotional value has no cash value and is not redeemable for cash except when required by law.

16. Agreement to These Terms

• Completion of a purchase or registration constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of these Terms of Purchase, Registration & Participation and any additional policies displayed during checkout or associated with the specific event or product. Mahjong Mania may update these terms periodically. The terms applicable to a transaction are those in effect when the purchase or registration is completed.
